Queer As Folk is by far one of the best gay shows on television. With the way QAF (Queer As Folk) ended, it seemed to be unfinished. The fans of the show needed more closure. We weren't offered that with how QAF ended it's fifth and apparently final season.
This show has been a huge inspiration for queer youth around the world. It's provided a realistic and fun take on gay culture. The fan base misses the show and loves it dearly. Even the creators have ideas for a season six. They claimed to pick it back up again if Showtime were to approach them. Though some dialogue and scenes in the show may be crude or graphic, that's part of the show's magic. What makes it unique is its bravery. It shows those who watch it that anything is possible if you try hard enough and you're smart enough about what you do. QAF gives its viewers courage and shows them not only how to have fun, but how to be a good person. It shows the realistic capabilities of a man or woman. Gay or straight. Young or old. To pick this show back up and bring back all of the inspiration would be a wonderful idea. With gay marriage legal in the US and so many changes in the gay community and our rights, it seems smart to bring back one of the most beloved gay shows.
The cast does a wonderful job of making the show believable and making the characters lovable. There are so many questions left unanswered by the end of season 5. If there were to be a season 6 it would be just as heartbreaking, inspirational, and real as the rest of the show. I think that's all part of the charm.
